Our paint brush cleaner includes all of the fun but none of the paint thinner
This device only weighs 6 pounds and can clean paint brushes on the go. It removes 95% of water based paint from a brush in less than 20 seconds.
Some possible (but not as effective) options included:

A water tank that could be attached to a water source for easy access to more clean water.

A round brush cleaning track that could spin water through a brush

A conveyor belt that offered a completely hands-off cleaning option

Cleaning brushes similar to hair brush bristles to ensure the inside of the paint brush is clean
The main characteristics that we wanted to address were portability (the device had to be less than 10 lbs), the small size (measurements of the cleaning chamber had to be less than 4"x4") and effectiveness (95% of the visible paint had to be removed). The final alpha prototype met all of these requirements, and will improve your experience next time you want to paint some happy little trees.
